There are lots of ways round.

* Position it where it's harder to hit accidentally.
(Somewhere near numlock, maybe, which is also largely
used for data entry.)
* Remap
* Remove it physically
* Make it inactive by default.
* Assign a sound or a pop-up to it. 

But I bet you that as the number of ugly emails goes down,
the number of complaints about stickykeys will go up. ;-)
