For what it's worth, Michael's experience mirrors my own.  Before the
DNC Registry, we got a couple calls a day from telemarketers.  After
adding our number to the registry, solicitations have tapered off to a
couple per month.  Even those are generally from companies that either
myself or a previous holder of this phone number have had previous
business relations with (and thus don't fall under the DNC
restrictions).

I have no idea if our experiences are representative of the general
population, though.  I'm sure there are unscrupulous telemarketers
that use the registry to farm phone numbers, but they don't seem to be
calling me.
