[funsec] black holes and lost socks

Sadly, physicist John A. Wheeler died yesterday; he is widely credited
with attaching the term "black hole" to what was at one time considered
a fairly absurd space-time construct.  When I saw the "Subject" line
come across, I thought this was going to be about him.  The NYTimes
has a good writeup on him; I'll just say that you have to be awfully
smart to lose an argument to Neils Bohr.
